I use Aquaphor and Aveeno cream for the occasional case of diaper rash. I usually slather it on liberally on the rash area and the rash clears up within a day. I am also big proponent of thoroughly cleaning my diaper area during a change using lots of wipes and some breathing time without a diaper. This keeps me relatively rash free. As for the diaper disjngrating during use or a change when using rash cream, that has never happened to me and I use both the expensive and cheap diapers. My guess it was a specific brand or you could have had a bad batch. Do you know which brand you were wearing when you had the issue.
